Each safe starts out with a specific steel thickness for the body and the door depending on the safe line, i.e Sanford, Blackburn, Foraker, Elias, and McKinley. The thickness starts out at 3/16″ for the door and 12 gauge for the body in the Sanford and goes to 1/2″ for the door and 1/4″ for the body in the McKinley. Our safes are all tested to withstand 1200°F with an interior temperature of 350°F.
